Migrating your site to SkyHosting is simple and fast. You just need to provide us with the access details, and our team takes care of the rest, quickly and securely. Migration usually takes up to 24 hours, and often less, depending on the size of your site, your e-mail accounts, and any issues we run into with your old host. We can schedule the migration for whenever your site has the least traffic, so it doesn't affect your business.
1. Order hosting
Before we can start the migration, you need to order a hosting plan with SkyHosting. We recommend choosing a plan based on how much space your current hosting uses:

2. Migrating a site hosted on cPanel
If your site is currently hosted on cPanel, we'll need you to provide:
- cPanel URL
- Username
- Password
Alternatively, you can create a full backup of cPanel and send us a link to the file so we can download it. Most cPanel migrations transfer everything at once: domains, databases, files, settings and e-mail accounts.
Note: If you're not transferring the domain to us, only the site, you'll need to update the domain's DNS to point to the SkyHosting nameservers after the migration is done.
3. Migrating a site that isn't on cPanel
If your site isn't on cPanel, we'll need:
- Access details for your current host's control panel, or FTP access
- Site details: domain name, which database it uses, and any other relevant information
Once you open a support ticket with this information, our team will check whether anything else is needed and get back to you as soon as possible.
4. Opening a migration ticket
To start the migration, open a support ticket and include:
- Your access details (cPanel or control panel)
- Which hosting plan you ordered
- Any additional details about your site, if relevant
